My Last 15 Minutes In America

February 26, 2007, 1:07 pm

Here were my last few minutes living in America:

At the Phoenix Airport, known by the locals as Sky Harbor. In those parts, they’re not used to people getting on planes and flying around up in the sky. As I was about to board my flight to LA (where I would have to make a pretty quick change to my plane for Tokyo and out of America), they stopped me and put me in another line. The regular line kept going but my line didn’t move. The clock did move, and I started wondering when I would be permitted through.

Let’s Save The Earth - Whales First

February 22, 2007, 12:52 am

The fact that Japan still goes out whaling, REALLY PISSES ME OFF!

I heard that a whaling vessel was stuck in the ice in antarctica, and I thought, “Wait a minute, whaling is illegal; what’s going on?”

So, I got into my SUV and drove as quickly as I could to the nearest convenience store. I went in and enjoyed the nicely cranked air conditioning, bought a coke and a newspaper. I drank the coke and read the paper about the whaling story and then chucked them in the trash. I was so pissed, man, I FLUNG that plastic coke bottle in the bin!

Diary Of A Madman

February 21, 2007, 1:37 pm

If anybody finds a copy of “Diary of a Madman” (the Gogol book, not the Ozzy album) at Ocean Deep near Chiba station, that would be mine. It fell out of my damn coat pocket while I was sitting at the bar sucking down beer and some sick soy sauce tasting hot Chinese sake with sugarcubes in it. I saved that fucking book for weeks and just started it on the way there. I was at this cool part where he was stealing and reading letters written by a dog owned by this aristocratic hottie that he wants to nastify. It was off to a good start. Those bastards tending the bar are probably reading it now. Damn.

My Greatest Achievement as an English Teacher

February 21, 2007, 12:50 am

Here it is:

I have some kids that I teach on Monday nights, and when they finish their little phonics printouts and have all the letters written correctly and all that, I reward them by drawing a star on their sheet (note: linguistics is a worthless field of study if you’re going to teach English). One day, I got carried away and started drawing stars of all different shapes and sizes and colors and the kids went totally insane.
