another wednesday I shoulda just stayed in bed…
February 27, 2008, 6:32 amI got an email on my phone this morning from Kozu. It says, “hello! how are u? i haven’t seen u for a long time! do you still teach english privately? if u do, please let me know!” and I thought to myself, “who the fuck is ‘Kozu’? Is Kozu a man or a woman?” I spent about 45 seconds flipping through all the faces of ex-students and random people I’ve known in Japan, then got bored of thinking about it and moved on to something else. Later I’ll either write back, “who are u?” or figuring that to write back might be to invite more people to ask me to do things, I might just delete it… on the train from Chiba to Tsuga this morning, I got a long stare and dirty look from some old fart of a man who was drinking beer. Time Management For Lazy Unaspiring Slobs
February 26, 2008, 3:14 pmI’m busy as hell lately and it just means that I have to make some feeble attempt at time management… the result is this: I vow to spend one hour a day either playing guitar, writing songs or writing songs by playing guitar… even if it means forsaking work, eating, sleep, whatever other obligations and forsakable things there are in life, etc, etc… but an hour a day is not too much to give for something that you love.
“What about making time to spend with your wife?” You may ask. The answer is that there is no problem there. She is now permanently planted in front of the TV with the heater on and lots of cushions and all I have to do is take one look at that pile of pillows (with her buried somewhere inside) and I fall onto it, not to get up again for (more…)
