Glen Does Mats
April 30, 2008, 9:53 amThe stars are aligned. Everything in the Universe is humming away in perfect order. It’s a time of the Earth’s revolving when amazing, spectacular and unthinkable things are happening. Glen Campbell is covering Replacements on his new album. I couldn’t have fantasized anything cooler than that. He’s doing “Sadly Beautiful,” along with some Tom Petty, Velvet Underground and some silly alternashit which he’ll do so that they’ll sound like real songs. Glen, the hip hick, doing it again. How cool. I’m going to go listen to “Galveston” right now.
Other people are obsessed with Glen Campbell, right? It’s cool to like him, isn’t it? That (more…)

This Ain’t No Picnic!

The Minutemen are one of the 80’s greatest bands (the 80’s… what does that mean anyway?), and D Boon was one fat guy who rocked. Me and Joaquin were going to write a book (maybe still will) copying the book “Jews Who Rock” (don’t know publisher info and stuff… try amazon) called “Fat Guys Who Rock” and D Boon was going to have a chapter. His weight fluctuated from pouchy working man to human gut tank, but no matter how big he got, he still sang like balls and managed to bring it all up and down jumping and pogoing like an angry dog. Here’s two of their best songs, performed on (more…)

I Think She Knows…
April 20, 2008, 5:45 amFirst off, when I came home last night and she said, “how was practice?” she seemed to keep a lingering look on me. I also realized that I didn’t have my drum sticks. That’s a pretty good giveaway that I wasn’t at band practice. Now I started to get nervous.
After the shower I ate a snack watching TV, and then took a book to bed. Then, today, she started asking me questions and I realized that she suspected me. I don’t know how she knew, but women just know somehow. You think you’re being clever, you think you can peel off a lie like nothing and everybody will believe you, you’re invincible… but once (more…)

Into The Bowels Of The US Government Bureaucracy And Other Recent Adventures
April 15, 2008, 4:38 pmIt’s been a week but it feels like longer, o blog, since last I wrote ya. I want to say that fuck all has been happening, but as it turns out, a fuck of a lot has been happening and I don’t even know where to start. How’s about a video? This is the first seepage of Risk footage that Nick has let dribble. He says there’s more to come. This clip is us at practice… actually just Joaquin and me, schlumping our way through a Small Faces cover… sweaty… badly dressed… and in my case, playing a drumset that even the poorest junior high kid in Missouri wouldn’t accept in exchange for an eighth ounce of stanky ditchweed… but here it is…
