This man is a genius…
September 16, 2009, 1:11 amHe’s my new hero and that’s all there is to it. He’s a weird and slightly creepy man who hangs around in a bathtub all day and does weird shit to entertain children. His name is “Ofuroski” and he’s on the NHK show “Mee-tsuketa!”
Here, he’s standing up a bunch of crap on a table and making it look like it’s the funniest and most interesting thing in the world. Here he’s making up songs on the spot about socks…
… pure genius. This guy can get kids into singing songs about socks, and I can’t hardly get any interest at all in learning the lingua franca of earth, English. Ah well. Here he’s hurting himself and showing kids how to throw the pain away…
… by the way, “Ofuroski” is Japanese for “I like baths.” Just thought I’d explain a little there.
Definitely, watching kids shows with Nico is ruining my brain somehow, but I’m addicted. Just research really… trying to figure out how to make English as interesting as a chair singing about ways of cooking his favorite egg.

Been A Long Time Since I Rock N ROLLLLLL’D
September 1, 2009, 12:56 pmDe-NEH, de-NEH de-NEH.. well it has, and.. crap! last post was the end of last year! I’ve got 61,769 unmoderated comments! Hmmm, I think I’ll ignore them. There, job finished.
Been a long time and what better way to rekickstart it off than to quote those poodle headed crowley-lovin’ dinosaur bastards from your uncle’s past - that’s right, the Zep. Zepsters. The Ledded ones. Didja know they spelled it “led” instead of “lead” because they thought Americans were too stupid, and they’d read it like “leed zeppelin?” And didja know that Def Leppard left out the “a” in “deaf” because they were stupid led zeppelin worshippers and didn’t even have the good sense to rip off somebody cool like ACDC or Motorhead? (*not actual fact)
Well, I’m back on blogging because I still have this crusty coffeestained computer and my daughter hasn’t ripped all the keys off yet, and I can still type type type. So there ya go. And I wanna tell ya today…
Last weekend was a rock and roll riot all over the nation of Japan… first night was at the Shelter with the A-Bones, Firestarter and Cedrics (and us), and if that ain’t enough to set your ballsack aflame with the fire of rock and roll damnation, the second night… they played at Loft all night and we missed it cuz we were in Kyoto, but we were rocked to fuck by Nylon. Holy moly. been listening to them for years but never seen them, and now they been seen and holy shitfire they were amazing. Sunday night, my band #2 the Hey Tonights rocked 10 people including us at Cafe Again, and it was alright goddam, and we played with some shit-talking surf princesses called the Why’s who were cool.
Whew, and by the way, some of my blog energies are going into doing the Hey Tonights Myspace blog which means I’m putting money right into the pockets of the corporate devils! or something like that, who cares.
By the way, there was just a big election in Japan, and somebody won it, and they’re gonna do something or other, like a real big change, and something something.
No more comments please.

Last Show Of The Year
December 30, 2008, 5:32 pmJust wanted to write a little review of my own show (!), hey why not?… that I posted about last time. 12/21 at Koenji High. Every band was good, including us (I was told) due I think to the fact that we squeezed in an hour of practice and it worked wonders for us… but I have to say even though I’ve said it before, ALL HAIL THE GIMMIES… they were just fucking incredible as usual, but even more so… they did a cover of Kids Don’t Follow that was spot on perfect and beautiful, I could almost hear the cop at the beginning, “The party’s over, just grab your things and there won’t be any haaah-ssles.” And it is a confirmed fact that in the middle of the Saddles set (it was their CD release party remember) I quit dancing around and smiling and just stood there with my mouth open stunned by the utter rockin-ness of it and was catatonic for the rest of the set. Wow wow wow.
No Snazz shows in January, but some in February I think.
